This is a Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 project that shows how to perform serial I/O using the Microsoft Serial API. It also shows how to switch the RS-485 transceiver modes programmatically between 4-wire mode, 2-wire TXRDY, 2-wire DTR, and 2-wire DTR w/echo.

Note this example illustrates how to change the wire mode without using VISA. Applications using NI-Serial 1.6 should use NI-VISA 3.x for changing wire modes.
