Filename: rt_set_timezone.vi
Requirements: View

The RT Set Date and Time VI (in the LabVIEW 7.0 Real-Time VIs>>Real-Time Utilities palette) allows you to manually set the date and time of your LabVIEW Real-Time system. However, by default, LabVIEW Real-Time uses the Universal Time Coordinate (UTC). Therefore, the time that you entered may actually view as being offset by a multiple of several hours. To adjust for this, you can use this example to set the timezone of your controller, which will then make the conversion for you to your local time.

Steps:
1. Download to your RT system and run RT Set Timezone.vi with the appropriate timezone selected.
2. Reboot the controller.
3. Set the correct local time by running the RT Set Date and Time VI (in the Real-Time VIs>>Real-Time Utilities palette) on the Real-Time system.

**WARNING** If you run the RT Set Date and Time VI attempting to set the local time before running this example, it will actually set the UTC time.
