This VI will open an automation refnum to LabVIEW on a remote computer using DCOM. If the automation server is a Windows NT machine, it will actually launch LabVIEW on the other machine, provided that the DCOM settings have been set appropriately (see the readme file for more information on this). The example will then load a VI into memory and run it, and the user can specify when to terminate the program and whether to close LabVIEW on the other machine when finished.

This is an example that can be greatly expanded upon to create larger and more advanced remote applications.

NOTE: In addition to the configuration described here, you may need to change the "user rights policy" to allow authenticated users to "access this computer from the network" on Windows NT systems. (You will need to be logged in as the Administrator to access the user privileges settings.)
