The Challenge:
Creating a continuous structural monitoring system that delivers highly sensitive and stable strain measurements of a large structure in a challenging environment.

The Solution:
Developing an optical sensor system based on the NI PXIe-4844 optical sensor interrogator that consists of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain gages distributed on optical fiber, which is immune to lightning and other environmental effects.
