The XCD-SX900 is one of the newest additions to Sony's IEEE-1394 digital camera family. Offering a dramatic leap forward in performance, cost effectiveness and compact size, the new XCD-SX900 weighs only 250g with dimensions of just 44 x 33 x 116 mm (WxHxD). The XCD-SX900 offers high imaging resolution, and an easy-to-use asynchronous electronic shutter function, making it ideal for quality-critical imaging applications with the added benefit of simple, high-speed connection to external PCs. The XCD-SX900 employs a 1/2-inch Progressive Scan CCD sensor with square pixels and offers excellent sensitivity. This camera delivers uncompressed, high resolution digital 8-bit monochrome images. The output resolution of the XCD-SX700 is 1,450,000 pixels (1280x960) at 7.5 frames per second. For extra flexibility, the Partial Scan/Scalable function allows for the selection of the output to be a smaller rectangular portion of the full image to increase the frame rate or reduce processing time.

Note to IE Users: If camera files are opening as text in your browser, you can cause them to instead download with an option to save as a file by associating .icd files in Windows to open in a program like Notepad. This will save you from having to copy text in the browser and manually create and save the file. Here are instructions to do this:

• create a text file on your desktop and rename it to have the .icd extension (you may be alerted about the file type - just click Yes to continue)
• right-click on your new file, select Open, and choose the option to "Select from a list of programs"
• choose Notepad from the list of programs, select the option to "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", and open the file
• Windows will now associate that file type with Notepad, and clicking Camera File links will download and save as desired
